    Local Inspiration from Spun Charleston

    L O C A L  I N F L U E N C E R :  S P U N  C H A R L E S T O N

Celadon’s Flea & Farmers Market is filled with artisans and makers from all over the Charleston area looking to make a start, or continuing to chase their dreams. We take pride in helping to advocate for our local small businesses, as we too, are a small, local business. This new blog series is spotlighting artists and makers who have made a name for themselves among The Holy City and who help to influence and encourage our vendors and customers alike. We are excited to continue the introductions with a local Charleston vendor, creator and owner of cotton candy cart, Spun Charleston, Alexandra Mooring.

    Tell us about yourselves.

I am a full time student at the College of Charleston and own Spun, a local organic cotton candy cart.

Where do you find your inspiration in Charleston for your work?

I am so inspired by the light and airy feel of living on the water. It is why I was so drawn to the design of my cart: simple and light.

How would you describe your decorating style?

I’m all about the cool neutrals. I love grey, light blue, and black & white designs – very simple. I try to channel my inner Joanna Gaines!

What are some of your favorite recent pieces from Celadon?

I’m always obsessed with all of the Turkish Rugs. I have my eye on the Straw Roundie Bag and would die for the Laurent Bed.

What is your favorite part of the Celadon Flea & Farmers Market?

I love being a part of something with so many talented artisans and love knowing that it is all local because #buylocal is so important!
