Local Inspiration from Paula Rallis
Celadon’s Flea & Farmers Market is filled with artisans and makers from all over the Charleston area looking to make a start, or continuing to chase their dreams. We take pride in helping to advocate for our local small businesses, as we too, are a small, local business. This blog series is spotlighting artists and makers who have made a name for themselves among The Holy City and who help to influence and encourage our vendors and customers alike. We are excited to continue with Paula Rallis: house flipper, commercial real estate investor, Harvard grad and store owner of Paula Rallis Home!

Tell us about yourself.
I’m a Southerner from the start with a soul and style that’s a little more Manhattan than Mason-Dixon, but I’ve found my home back in Charleston. I write, never stop learning and occasionally fly planes. As far as the day-to-day, my husband and I are house flippers and commercial real estate investors, I own a home store in Greenville and an event space, and am back in school getting my masters in journalism. We’ll be adding to the fam with a baby girl any day now.

Where do you find your inspiration in Charleston for your work?
On my porch, surrounded by the salt air and live oaks with an age older than I will ever reach.

How would you describe your decorating style?
French chic meets California surf culture.
What are some of your favorite recent pieces from Celadon?
I am in love with my dining room chairs. The curve of the teak wood, the black leather seat, it’s midcentury with a touch of modern. I may have also recently gone overboard in the children’s section…
What is your favorite part of the Celadon Flea & Farmers Market?
Um, SALES! And discovering new artists, celebrating the incredible talent we have here locally.
