Local Inspiration from Hart Hagerty
L O C A L I N F U E N C E R : H A R T
Celadon’s Flea & Farmers Market is filled with artisans and makers from all over the Charleston area looking to make a start, or continuing to chase their dreams. We take pride in helping to advocate for our local small businesses, as we too, are a small, local business. This new blog series is spotlighting artists and makers who have made a name for themselves among The Holy City and who help to influence and encourage our vendors and customers alike. We are excited to continue the introductions with a lovely local Charleston jewelry and clothing designer by the name of Hart Hagerty.

Tell us about yourself.
I’m a Chinese-speaking native Charlestonian. After majoring in Mandarin at Vanderbilt, I lived in Shanghai for 6 years working as a lifestyle/fashion editor and launched my brand there. I moved back to Charleston after a stint in NYC in branding and advertising. I finally moved home last August and haven’t looked back since!
Where do you find your inspiration in Charleston for your work?
The people! I adore my friends here. They are wildly talented. I’m lucky I get to collaborate with graphic designers, illustrators, decorators, stylists, etc on a weekly basis for my work. They keep my creative wheels spinning.
How would you describe your decorating style?
Eclectic & Resourceful, but not junky. I love thrifting for pieces that need a little TLC to become something magical and new again. I recently upholstered a $75 sofa in pink velvet.
What are some of your favorite recent pieces from Celadon?
I love the baskets! They are chic way to keep your space organized.
What is your favorite part of the Celadon Flea & Farmers Market?
The hunt! I like going early to get the good stuff before it flies out.
