Charleston Wine + Food Festival is HERE this Weekend!
We are so lucky to live in beautiful Charleston, SC where we have all of the friendliness and charm of a small town by the sea while enjoying the perks of a “mini-city” …..renowned local artists, eclectic fashion, unique stores (ahem..:-D ), nice hotels, and FANTASTIC FOOD!
Locals and tourists alike flock to Charleston’s smathering of incredible places to wine & dine that run the gammot from celebrating the traditions of local southern culture, to embracing the farm to table “slow-food” movement, to innovators straight from the kitchens of New York serving-up world class meals in cozy, intimate settings. This weekend marks the Annual Charleston Wine + Food Festival, which was recently praised as one of the top five food and wine festivals in the country by Forbes Traveller. Not bad for a Festival that just got its feet off of the ground in 2006!! Jay Fletcher, friend of Celadon and the mastermind behind our new shnazzy website, actually designed the 2010 Festival Poster (http://www.charlestonwineandfood.com/about-the-festival/poster-gallery/). Kudos to Jay!
It is always such a high energy weekend downtown, and it never ceases to amaze me the places people have come from far and wide to check-out Charleston and sample the best our treasured town has to offer. If you are downtown partaking in all of the food and drink fun this weekend….check-out these places Design*Sponge featured in their “City Guide” post last Spring (http://www.designspongeonline.com/2010/04/charleston-south-carolina-guide.html ). Thanks for the shout-out Design*Sponge!
Here at Celadon we are paying homage to the festivities across the river with this dream table created by Kristen, Cynthia, George, Brett and Marina. We also love this amazing table left in its natural tree-like form from Indonesia…solid wood is good! Tables available now at Celadon along with lots of new, fun table top accessories for spring, as well as centerpieces, glassware, linens, dishes, and the cutest aprons for children you have ever seen in your life!
Eat, Drink, and….Eat and Drink some more! Diets are for the birds . -R
