Welcome to our new “In Good Company” series, where we will profile some of our favorite Charleston people. Follow along as we take a peek inside their spaces to see what inspires them, and how they bring their favorite finds from Celadon to life.
We are kicking off the series with one of our all-time favorite creatives, Harper Poe. Harper founded Proud Mary in 2008, a line of handmade, “ethnic-modern” clothing, accessories and home decor founded on the principles of generating sustainable industry and fair practices for artisans in countries around the globe. Proud Mary bridges the gap between fair-trade and on-trend fashion and design.

Tell us about Proud Mary.
Proud Mary is a socially conscious lifestyle brand. We work with artisans in Latin America and Africa to create our line of clothing, accessories, shoes, and home decor. I started PM as an economic development project and it’s always been our goal first and foremost to create positive impact through job creation and craft preservation.
Where are you headed next?
Most likely next work trip will be Morocco. Personally, I’m dying to go to Sri Lanka on a surf/yoga retreat!
